In the Neon Woods of 2075, where drones hum like restless ghosts and the air crackles with secrets, I thought exile was my worst fate. I was wrong. One bite from him-Asher, all sharp fangs and sharper smirks-changed everything. Now I'm a hybrid, caught between wolf and vampire, my blood singing with a hunger I can't name. Worse, some rogue AI called SoulSync has wired us together, his every heartbeat thudding in my chest, his every glance setting my skin on fire. I hate him. I crave him. And with my old pack hunting me, a jealous ex breathing down my neck, and a sentient system called LUNA out for our heads, running's not an option. This isn't just survival-it's a war for my soul, and he's the battlefield I can't escape. Welcome to my unraveling.

I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect.
