Prompt: In a world where artificial beings and humans coexist, one artificial human embarks on a journey to understand love and emotions and finds more than they expected.

In 1977, the U.S. government began work on a top-secret project to replace its mechanized warfighters. Using the revolutionary "universal core system," they developed a new battery that forever changed the future of war. But with the Russians closing in on this proprietary technology, it's up to the neo-mechs to protect their hardwiring and ensure America prevails without bloodshed.

This story is a prequel to an unfinished work I wrote 10 years ago called Template. The original followed four roommates who embodied various anime tropes and worked together to resolve their disparate plotlines. I cannot locate the original online, as I think whatever site was hosting it is down - so look out for a potential rewrite of the original in the future!All Rights Reserved
