17 year old Caroline Ward's family was taken from her when she was just eight years old to a very unfortunate accident, leaving her on her own with no one else to take care of her, to become an orphan. Or was it an accident?
Nine years later, Caroline has been adopted by the Lock family. Who own a huge house, in an old money neighborhood, with spoiled rich kids at every corner. They seem to be the perfect family, but what are they hiding inside the downstairs basement for there to be a padlock on it with two other locks drilled into the door?
Once at her new school, Caroline makes a couple of new friends, but catches the eye of a boy named Henry Black who shouldn't be judged by his cover.
Will Caroline find out more about her family's death? Will she learn more about the seemingly strange people of her new town?
