In a world where the future isn't written but echoed, 17-year-old Lila hears the whispers of events yet to happen - but they're not hers. The echo she's been hearing for months is someone else's life, someone's fate, and that someone is in danger. As she tries to uncover the identity of the person behind the mysterious echoes, Lila finds herself caught in a web of secrets, shadowy figures, and a powerful organization that will do anything to keep their plans hidden. Can she stop what's coming before it's too late, or will the echoes become her own fate?

First Chapter (Excerpt):

I've always heard things. It started when I was younger - whispers of something I couldn't see, couldn't understand. At first, it was just faint sounds, like voices drifting from another world.

But by the time I was sixteen, those whispers turned into something more - echoes. Clear, distinct, and impossible to ignore.

It's strange. Most people think the future is something that hasn't happened yet. But for me, it's not that simple. I hear the future. The thing is, the future I hear isn't mine.

I've been hearing her - a girl I don't know, yet know everything about. Her life, her fears, her pain. I can't explain how, but I hear her voice every night, calling out for help. I don't know her name. I don't know her face. All I know is that something horrible is coming for her. And if I can't stop it... then her fate might echo into mine.

Tonight, I hear her again. The echo sharpens, clearer than ever before.

"Help me, Lila. It's happening. They're coming."

The echo fades.

And just like that, I'm left with a choice - follow the voice, or ignore it and risk the consequences.

I don't know why it's me she's calling to, but I can't just do nothing. I owe it to her. And to myself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We stepped out of the car and in front of us was a beautiful field of flowers. Why did he bring me here? "Do you see this?" "They look beautiful, how did I not know about this earlier?" They were a beautiful orange, reddish color, and didn't fit the ominous air of the town at all. Will almost looked sad with my reaction to the flowers: "Those are poppy flowers, Claire." I still looked at him with many questions, not understanding the bad thing about flowers. "We grow these many poppy flowers," he explained, "because they are the main ingredient for heroin, it's the entire reason my family and I moved here to this little shit town, it's the perfect and place to grow them." I didn't know how to react to this and I also didn't know how this would scare me off, which, I think, he was trying to do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Claire's life is turned upside down when she bumps into the new boy, Will, at her school. People warn her about him, saying he's dangerous but they refuse to tell her why. Even though all the negative things said about him, she can't seem to stay away from him. When she does discover his dangerous secret, she has to make an important choice, because how far will she go for love? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alex, a new student at Breakworth College studying art, struggles with being on time for class. With a lack of friends and no social groups, he finds himself alone and helpless. One encounter after another with Zack, he finds himself debating whether or not Zack is really homophobic and a downright asshole or is trying to hide something about himself; only time will tell. --- I had two options: Say yes or make this situation worse for myself, Deciding on option two, "Zack, you're acting pretty gay for someone who's homophobic," I said slyly. I knew this could only cause him to get angrier, but I knew it was true he was the one who called me a "fag" not even a week ago. "I'm not gay, unlike you; I just know how to get things I want, and you caught my eye. Being my friend is a blessing. You should take the offer," He said, still against my neck. "Aren't you cocky," I replied, trying to stand my ground. Gripping tighter on my waist, he hummed against my ear once again. "I'm getting impatient, Alex. Cut the crap. Say yes already so we can put this past us. I already know I can get you to say Yes," and in a barely audible voice, I heard him say, "I know your weakness". "Now, what weakness could that be-" I didn't even get to finish my sentence before a set of teeth sank into the sensitive flesh of my neck, sending an unexpected wave of pleasure through me. "W-wait, not there. Fine, fine. I'll be your friend. Just stop that shit." Zack paused, his breath hot against my skin as he chuckled. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" His tone was dripping with satisfaction, revelling in his perceived victory. He pulled back slightly, his eyes locked onto mine with a predatory glint. I tried to steady my breathing, my pulse racing from the conflicting sensations. "What is wrong with you?" I muttered, more to myself than to him. The fear and arousal mingled in a way that left me feeling disoriented and vulnerable.
After turning twenty-one, Maya sets out to find the birth mother who might explain everything. A violent encounter with a mysterious man plunges her into a darker world. He is as haunted as she is-fierce, damaged, terrifyingly tender. Their chemistry is immediate and volatile: refuge that threatens control. As Maya digs into the past, buried secrets fracture her identity and force impossible choices. Trauma refuses neat endings. Love becomes both lifeline and liability-can redemption survive, or will the darkness destroy them both? What will Maya uncover about herself and his past as she tumbles down this dark path? Is he her safe place to land? Chapter 19 Peek: "Stop being so narrow-minded, dipshit," Danny snapped, voice cutting sharp, anger flaring hot. "No. I forced you to face it so it would possibly show you a different reflection than the one you've become so accustomed to staring at-the pathetic, self-pitying fuck-up who runs from everything. Jacob, you acted like all the things you named-toxic parasite, jealous coward, obsessive freak, the rapist-in-the-making who violated his best friend-but that doesn't have to define you forever. You can change it, but only if you change yourself. Stop wallowing like a victim and own the monster you became." The words hit like punches, harsher than the trail descent, rage in his voice making me flinch. "How?" I choked out, the guilt surging fresh-Maya's horrified face that night, the forced kiss, the violation I'd inflicted in my blackout haze. "How after making such a big mistake? After hurting her like that?"
The only safe place anymore is pressed against him under the sheets. "Coal!" I call out again. ---I can hear her. She's here somewhere I know it. I can smell her sent threw the thick of the woods.
