Day after day, they ride in silent familiarity-always near, yet never close enough. Chance memorizes the way Imara tucks her hair behind her ear, while Imara steals glimpses of Chance tapping his fingers to the rhythm of his music.
Then, one ordinary morning, Chance takes his ticket, walks to his assigned seat, and freezes. Imara is already there, staring back at him with the same surprised expression.
