The Old Guard

Four soldiers from the Napoleonic Wars: a battle-harden French officer, a steadfast but scared American ranker, a resourceful British surgeon, and a devout Prussian priest-have fought countless battles, but none as harrowing as the one they lost. Their world fell to the Blight, an unstoppable force of death and decay that turns people into what they have called cannibals, vampires, man-eating freaks. Yet, fate has given them another chance.

Thrown into the world of Remnant, a land besieged by creatures called Grimm, these soldiers of the past must adapt to a future of Dust-fueled weapons, powerful Semblances, and an endless war against darkness. As they march into battle once more, they ask themselves-can they succeed where others have failed? Can men from an age of steel and shot shape the destiny of a world teetering on the brink?
