Marvella Beneoit is just your run-of-the-mill high school student who has a penchant for books and forgetting her homework. One day, however, a  blonde boy dressed in a suspicious amount of black - quite literally - bursts in to her life (effectively slicing the head off of a secretary-turned-feral-rhinoceros in the process), and suddenly she finds herself in a world where time is irrelevant and everything she knows about anything is shown to be wrong.

A tale of love, adventure, and humor, Marvella is taken in to the Hourglass and is rendered helpless from escaping the fate that she just happened stumble upon - or, rather, was dragged in to by a mysteriously attractive, and bossy, boy.
