Winning a Losers Game - Anthony Larusso

Evelyn, a skilled but reluctant karate student, has spent her life training in her strict father's dojo, The Iron Dragons, in Hong Kong, though she doesn't truly enjoy it. After her mother's death, her father became even stricter, and Evelyn feels burdened by his high expectations. Despite her achievements, she is frustrated when her dojo rival, Zara, is chosen as team captain for an important international competition, leaving Evelyn feeling overlooked. One night, she meets Anthony, a boy from another team, who, with his easygoing and kind nature, offers her comfort and a sense of relief from the pressures of her life.
