Ruby, a resilient young woman, lives with her four close friends in a cozy apartment in Italy. She fled her home country to escape the clutches of her abusive father, seeking solace and a fresh start after enduring years of hardship. Her mother tragically passed away while giving birth to Ruby and her twin, sadly getting separated from her twin. Leaving Ruby to navigate a tumultuous childhood. In Italy, Ruby's life took a positive turn as her and her friend vale opened up a bakery , where Ruby often finds comfort and a sense of belonging amidst the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The supportive environment and the warmth of her friends have given Ruby hope and a chance to heal from her past.

She ends up meeting Louis when he caught her eye coming into her bakery, she ends up getting close with Louis and his friend group and end up falling deeply in love with him not knowing dangerous love comes with consequences.

Louis is a young boy who constantly moves around the country with his friends, trying to stay one step ahead of some bad people they got involved with. Life on the run is tough, but Louis is determined to protect his friends and himself. His parents passed away, leaving him to fend for himself and rely on the only family he has left, his friends. Despite the challenges, Louis remains hopeful that they will eventually find a safe place to settle down and start a new life. After he meets Ruby he has hope that life will get better until, things take a turn for the worse.
