Ayana Vail, a name many know. Born as a General's daughter and later known as a Separatist's kid Ayana fights to make her own name.
As she joins Basgiath, a war college, to become a rider she not only has to protect herself but also her best friend Violet.
Basgiath is known to strip the cadets from everything unnecessary and form them into weapons. Her job to protect them both is never ending as many try to kill them to get a better chance at bonding a dragon, others want to kill them because of what their parents did, especially Ayana's second-cousin, Xaden Riorson, son of the great betrayer, seems fixated on her best friend.
Through all of this she has one goal. Survive. If she survives and flies out at graduation she will step into her mother's footsteps, she will become the duchess of Luceras, a title that holds authority as the dukes and duchesses of the six provinces hold great power.
Can she survive, can she protect those that she swore to protect and can she find love again when she thought she lost all?
