Writing is an adventure - one that challenges, surprises, and sometimes downright exhausts us. The first Let's Write! challenge was no exception. Over the course of fifteen relentless days, a couple of writers faced a new prompt every day, pushing our creativity to our limits. Some stories emerged in a frenzy of inspiration, while others clawed their way onto the page through sheer determination. What resulted was a collection of tales as diverse as the minds that penned them. From the eerie and unsettling to the heartfelt and humorous, each entry in this anthology is a testament to the power of storytelling under pressure. Some pieces stand as fully formed narratives, while others are tantalizing glimpses into worlds begging to be explored further. This anthology is a celebration of imagination, resilience, and the magic that happens when writers dare to face the blank page day after day. So, whether you're here to be thrilled, amused, or inspired, settle in. Until next time! #characterswanted

We knew something wasn't right from the moment we awoke. It was like something was missing - a part of our very souls - and we couldn't sense the deficiency, no matter how hard we tried. A hundred million eyes adjusted to the dark all at once, all surprised to be awakened so soon. We ran through our checklists of limbs and senses, drawing ourselves out of our dreams piece by piece. Some went back to sleep, unaware, unbothered, too tired to notice the difference. Some lay in bed, too anxious to stand until the light of dawn crept through their windows at last, and they were sure the monsters in their closets had gone back to sleep. Some leapt from their slumbers, more keenly aware than others that the missing pieces were important. But we didn't know. We couldn't have. Not until we found ourselves standing in the light and discovered: We no longer had shadows.
