No longer penniless and starving on scraps for the better part of his life, he suffered. The shift in the world had been beautiful, and he didn't mind biting into it any way he could.
Speaking of biting... There seemed to be a new player on the chess field-a mystery woman who swept in and charmed high society with class and something else. Not to be mistaken wholly for a weak-tempered babe. Not with the mystery she leaves in her wake. Funny enough, journalism runs in her family.
