It's been a boring few months since Hiccup had brought the dragons and humans of his village together. He and Astrid have been struggling more than he'd like to admit. His mother would say not to string her along but he didn't know how to end things.

He thought about leaving and start working on his inventions again, until a friend of his parents' pulled up to shore.

These people looked different, had tanner skin, long dark curly hair. Their boat looked more like a canoe. He chuckled to himself, their boat wouldn't last through a war. Until he saw the daughter. She had scars and tattoos, yet had an ethereal beauty he never saw in Astrid. He was having a war himself and doubted he would last..
