The Beast and Me

Blow after blow to the ribs and legs. I was coughing up blood as my mother and father screamed ugly things at me. I wasn't sobbing, I have mastered pain control, and hiding my emptions from the world. Finally after what seemed like forever, my parents left, probably to go clubbing or drinking... or both, I dragged myself to the stairs and cautiously stood up and proceeded to climb to my room. I went into my bathroom and turned on my water as cold as I could, I wasn't allowed hot water, and grabbed a holey, dirty, old towel and my razor. I walked into the shower and let the tears fall down my face like waterfalls. I took my razor and made three deep cuts on each wrist and felt relief almost immediately.
