The royal court buzzed with hushed murmurs and stolen glances, but none as bold as the ones directed at the man seated on the throne. Raavan, draped in black and gold, exuded an aura of untamed power, his sharp eyes lazily scanning the hall as if nothing could shake his dominion. But Veda saw it-the way some women in the court devoured him with their eyes, their intentions clear, their gazes lingering where they shouldn't.
Fools.
The heavy silence that followed her entrance was almost deafening. No one had seen her coming. Draped in deep blue, her presence was as fluid and unstoppable as the ocean she ruled. In her hands, she carried a pair of silver payal, the delicate sound of tiny bells filling the air as she moved forward.
Without a word, she stopped before him. The entire court watched in breathless anticipation. Raavan, ever unreadable, leaned back in his throne, a slow, knowing smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
Then, without hesitation, Veda lifted one foot, placing it gently yet possessively against his chest. A silent command.
A flicker of something dark and amused passed through Raavan's eyes before he moved, his strong hands fastening the payal around her ankle with reverence. The moment stretched between them, thick with something only they understood. And then, as if sealing a vow, he pressed a lingering kiss to the top of her foot.
A claim. A declaration. An undisputed truth.
Veda let her foot slide away, stepping back with an air of finality. But before turning, she cast a glance toward the women who had been staring moments ago. A single wink, playful yet laced with warning.
They dropped their gazes instantly.
Raavan chuckled under his breath as he watched her walk away, the sound of her payal-his gift, his surrender, his mark-echoing through the silent court.

MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE
"You didn't trust me" Guilt wash over her when a tear cascades down his eye.
He is crying for the first time. She is the sole reason behind his tears.
"I am sorry" She lowers her eyes in shame.
He steps closer to her gripping her forearm with his left hand. A shiver rolled down her spine not due to their proximity but due to the tension vibrating between them.
She looks up and her heart crack in response as betrayal brims his eyes.
"You claimed to love me but you couldn't trust me. Is our love so fragile ?" His words cut through her soul.
The question felt like a mock. Question on their relationship. Question on her trust for him. Question on her lover for him.
"I trusted you with everything. I strip off my every layer for you. I bared my soul to you. You are the only one whom I allowed to do this and I get this in return. If this is what love feels like then I don't want it" He left arms with a jerk and heaved a sigh suppressing the anger bubbling inside him.
Hurt visible on his face and his voice held a mixture of anger and pain. She had never seen him this sad. This helpless. She hates to admit that she is the cause of it.
"Adhyan please don't---"
