After a freak accident during one of the raids,Several soldiers including- Ravage is hurt,Soundwave decides that they desperately need to organize an operation to get medical supplies from Iacon.
It absolutely does not help that being near Iacon brings up rather unpleasant memories he would rather forget.
Or alternatively Soundwave trying so hard to save his cassette and makes a plan which would take into account all the risks in an inherently flawed strategy,Shockwave being the most supportive partner ever chooses to accompany him to ensure nothing goes wrong,cue Skywarp being the world's biggest enabler- and also to ease the guilt he's been feeling due to it being his mistake,and Starscream having the worst day of the cycle trying to prevent them from being caught by Sentinel's guards
But with all the planning and preparations with seemingly competent people and a quick way out, what could possibly go wrong.
