An FBI Detective turns sour to the corrupt system of the law when the victims of a case she solved were murdered by the man she put behind bars for threatening to kill them, while he was released on parole. Detective Mallory Jay then becomes heavily involved in finding similar crimes and takes it upon herself to take care of injustices by handling the cases how she feels they should be handled, all "illegally" and right under the noses of the FBI and her fellow co-workers.
Trying to do what's right, and maintain some sort of normalcy by day is torn apart when both lives she is living intertwine, bring chaos to everything and everyone in her life.
