She was sobbing uncontrollably, burying her face in my chest as if the world outside was too much to handle. "Shhh," I murmured, "I'm here. I've got you. You don't have to be scared anymore." The more I held her, the more desperate I became to stop her from crying. I stroked her hair, whispering words of comfort "Whatever happened, it's okay now. I'm not going anywhere."
