It's the late 1980's in a small town in South Carolina. Winnifred Duncan a young woman starting her first year of college at Claflin University, known for being inclusively an African American school. Winnifred is breaking norms as a white person going to an all black school. She wants to know more about the history that is the very backbone of the the united states. She isn't welcomed by her pears and is seen as an outcasts. She has to constantly prove herself that she belongs, despite her being different. She wants to make a difference and is shocked to find love in the process. Will she make a difference? Will she prove herself worthy?

Forced to move to a new city, Nina had to cut ties with everyone she once knew. Eight years later, fate brings her face-to-face with him again. "Ethan..." He's the key to everything-the truths she never knew. When she was lost in the dark, he always held the light. But now, things are different. She despises him. He's colder than ever.
