Seeing so many stars at once was breathtaking, and the way they shined reminded him of something. He just couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"They're like, like.."
"Like diamonds."
Sonic breaks his gaze from the sky to Shadow. "Yeah." He casts his eyes back up to the sky and surveys them with newfound admiration. "They're like diamonds."
A moment of silence descended upon them, and a gentle breeze carrying the crisp smell of pine swept through their quills.
"...She always liked looking up at the stars."

He turns his head towards the stars and raises his hand as if to catch up with someone. He swallows and breathes out, "...Because you are in love." There was a tone in his voice that reflected pain. 'Common Enemy' [Sonic 3 Inspired Fic]
Having come from Mobius, a once thought-to-be fictional world in which all of the Classic "Sonic The Hedgehog" characters live, a new super-powered, female Hedgehog arrives on Earth, looking to run away as she was being tracked down by echidna warriors. She soon finds herself hiding amongst the forests of what she later learns is "Green Hills" Montana before being spotted by another Hedgehog. As well as his family consisting of a two-tailed fox, echidna and two humans. Tom and Maddie. They get to know each other a bit, explaining each other's stories before being grouped together by an organization titled "G.U.N." and introduced to a new common enemy amongst the newly formed underdogs group, Shadow The Hedgehog. The group all go through highs and lows to keep this new common enemy at bay before a saddening past is revealed. The new female hedgehog makes it her new mission to keep this new enemy, who is swayed by heartbreak and pain and being used for something far greater beyond just simple revenge, at bay with hardened banter, endless ass-kicking and terrible, downright awful flirting and talk-me-downs before being discovered to hold a great power, one similar to the black and red hedgehog she was tasked to keep busy alongside others. Then, a new, odd, love-hate relationship starts to form between the two hedgehogs. It sparks and flares just as a huge revelation comes to light which requires the strengths of all 'alien' hedgehogs, humans, foxes and echidnas alike. All of the furry, non-furred and spiked friends then team up and take down those who deceived and manipulated.
