Legends tell of warriors who wield the light to drive away the darkness. But what of those who embrace the shadows, not to destroy, but to protect?
Onyx Thorn is not a Huntsman by choice-he is one by necessity. A wolf Faunus, a prodigy of combat, and the youngest professor in Beacon's history, he has walked a path carved from loss and survival. Raised as an orphan, trained by Qrow Branwen, and hardened by a life of solitude, Onyx was forced to grow up far too soon.
At just 11 years old, he made a choice that would change his fate forever-he became a father.
Finding a five-month-old baby girl abandoned in a river, he named her Hemera, the light to his darkness. In a world where Grimm roam and humanity teeters on the edge of ruin, Onyx swore to protect her, no matter the cost.
His Semblance, Total Darkness, allows him to forge weapons from shadow and shroud the battlefield in impenetrable black. But it is his Amethyst Eyes-a mysterious power akin to the legendary Silver Eyes-that makes him truly terrifying. A power that doesn't purify Grimm... but controls them.
Now, at 16, Onyx stands between Remnant and the horrors that lurk beyond the veil. As Beacon Academy's youngest professor and Huntsman, he hides his true nature behind a stoic mask, keeping the world at arm's length.
But fate is relentless.
Between guiding Team RWBY and Team JNPR, fending off Yang's jokes, useand somehow navigating his growing bond with Ruby Rose, Onyx finds himself pulled into something far greater than himself.
