Connie Roman, an orphan who was living in solitude of her very own bahay kubo which also serves as her home and prison. Nevertheless, she is contented living her humble life in her homeland, the Himaue Village, a place trapped in time - a land where fear masked as faith and women are often silenced beneath the weight of superstition. However, when lifeless bodies of animals and men begin appearing - drained of blood, hollowed from the inside, the villagers are hysterical, searching for the creature which they believe is a witch, causing all of the bloody misfortunes in the village.

Connie tries to ignore the gossip but her constant nightmares refuse to let her rest, not to mention her missing memories, and a sneaky shadow that moves when no one is watching, preying on the wicked. Himaue isn't just an isolated strange village because this place has monsters that don't just lurk in the dark.
