Tayla McPherson's whole life has revolved around football from the day she was born. Her whole family had a finger-in-the-pie (so to speak) at their local footy club, and it is a surprise to no one when her elder brother, Daniel, gets invited to the AFL Draft Combine. In the aftermath of tragedy that tears the McPherson family apart, Tayla throws herself into her studies. She is determined to never let what happened to her brother happen to anyone else, even if it ruins her life in the process.

In the face of mutual trauma and pain, Sam and Tayla struggle to keep things professional while working towards the same goal - Sam playing in the AFL.
