Regret

Only after losing you did I realize,
Happiness was never whole without you.
The peace I once found in your laughter,
Has now turned into an unending ache.

The dreams we wove in each other's arms,
Now lie shattered along deserted paths.
Boats never return once they drift away,
Yet the waves remind me of you every day.

If I could go back, I'd hold back the words,
The ones that left scars too deep to heal.
Now all that remains in a quiet corner of my heart-
A name, a mistake, a regret.
