The Magic of A Tamer

"You've got quite the nerve ta come askin' me fer help, Wizard," The Leprechaun looked at him with hate in his eyes.

"I haven't done anything to you," Lysander shrugged, not batting an eye at the small creature's reaction. "I just need to know where they are."

"I'm not gonna tell you where any of the Dubois are," he shook his head. "Ye couldn't get it outta me if I was half dead!"

"But-!" Orlyn tried to reason with him, but Lysander stopped him.

"That's fine," he got up, motioning the familiar to follow. On his way out of the pub, though, he stopped and looked back to the leprechaun. "Feel free to let them know someone's looking for them. Their very lives could be at stake if they don't talk to me soon."

Tobias is a loner out on his ship, venturing against the waves to enjoy the rest of his life away from most of his family. Sure, he still talked to Geoff and his brother and sister, but he enjoyed being at this stage of his life by himself. He was 19, and had finally mastered the craft of taming beasts after many failed attempts.

Things were pleasant and peaceful as he traveled, talking to the little friends and family he saw on his journeys. He was contempt to live the rest of his life this way.

Until a wizard appears out of nowhere, driving him down a dangerous path. Tobias never thought he would work with wizards. They were the arch enemies of the Dubois family. But something was telling him that there was more to this serious man than anyone else had known. Those serious eyes showed determination, but it was hard to figure out just what that determination was.

A tamer always followed their heart through their life. That was how they remained so successful.

Will Tobias be able to follow his heart? Or will it wind up being his demise?
