He too breathed quickly and in short gasps, but never took his eyes off me for even a split second. There was a tingling sensation in my chest. My heart was beating dangerously fast and hard against my ribcage. I felt an unbearable burning fire inside me. Adrenalin shot through all my veins."

When the new school year begins for Hermione, she initially still believes that peace has finally been restored to Hogwarts. However, when she is assigned Draco Malfoy, of all people, as her partner for an important project, she quickly learns otherwise...

This story takes place after the war and the Battle of Hogwarts. However, all the characters are still alive (I couldn't bring myself to leave them dead). Furthermore, I have twisted a few facts that may be different in the books. But hey, this is fan fiction, after all!
