Nico Di Angelo is the shy kid who sits at the back of the classroom. You would too if you had his secrets. Although he is quiet, he is also very talented. When he first entered this new high school, he had a lot of catching up to do since his old school was so far behind. Now, he is at the top of the class. Percy Jackson, on the other hand, is at the top of the social food chain. And while he is popular with his good looks as well as being the star player on the swim team, it is really his funny and welcoming personality that draws people in. However, Percy severely struggles in his classes due to ADHD and dyslexia. What happens when he asks Nico to tutor him? What happens when Nico doesn't hide his secrets deep enough?
Warning: Potentially triggering due to self-harm, depression, child abuse, and language (terms are used that are unacceptable to say to someone, but some characters are just that much of a jerk). Also, boyxboy; Don't like, don't read. Finally, the characters belong to the amazing Rick Riordon and none of the art is mine unless stated. Enjoy!

Saving a Hero
((((COMPLETED)))) Percy Jackson is depressed and has succumbed to self destructive ways to release his frustration. Nobody notices a thing until Nico gets wind of his former crush drifting farther and farther away. Percy suddenly has new feelings for someone new, and he gets rejected by someone, but not who he thinks. He gets a quest and has to pick one other person from camp to go with him to rescue a friend. Percy gets cursed along the way and has to make it back to Camp to save a life. This story is about Percy self harming, and Nico helping him, there are mentions of dizziness, the feeling of starving, graphic self harm/injuries, blood, graphic thoughts of a person with depression, and probably something like psychological horror. If any of that makes you uncomfortable, don't read!!! I don't think I'm going to get any backlash for anything but if you comment, I'm probably not going to answer you! To the people who leave nice comments, I do read all of them and it is appreciated! this is my first published work, I just wanted to add something to this cool community and maybe live a little vicariously through the characters. Nico di Angelo is finally happy. He's learning to accept himself for his sexuality and as a son of Hades. The boy he had a crush on since he was 11 years old. He's starting to realize that he isn't as useless as he thinks he is, and that he's actually worth something. Everything is going great for a while. But just like it always is for demigods, nothing good ever lasts. The death of Nico's first and closest friend Jason Grace puts a sudden end to the sunshine that currently brightens Nico's life for once. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past? In this sequel to Out of the Shadows, Nico sees familiar faces and revisits past places, but at least this time he has Will along for the ride.
