Rachael "Rae" Dawson is the very definition of everything-brains, confidence, and the kind of life most people only dream about having because of being the daughter of one of New York's wealthiest men. But the one thing she doesn't have? A boyfriend who actually loves her back. She has spent months trying to win over her perfect-on-paper boyfriend. Following every little internet love tip like it is a holy text: ignore the little red flags; no big deal; pretend not to notice the complete lack of effort; totally fine; almost break up with him at coffee shop after catching him cheating; not part of the plan. As if it could not get any worse: in the middle of her heartbreak, she collides-literally-with a cocky, infuriating college classmate named Leo Hayes, who she's never paid any mind to before. That is, until he spills an entire caramel latte down her designer dress. Rae is so done with men. Or so she thinks. Because somehow, Leo keeps showing up in her life at the worst possible moments. And the more they clash, the more their fights start feeling less like arguments... and more like something entirely else. Like banter. Like chemistry. Like a challenge she never saw coming. Maybe-just maybe-one latte too late isn't too late at all.

Nolan, an unapproachable guy who ignores the existence of all his schoolmates, sleeps in all of his classes. Normally, this wouldn't be Chelsea Arnold's problem-she does her best to pay attention in class and attends gym like a good, normal student. Unfortunately, she just so happens to be his assigned desk partner in many classes. She's frequently forced to wake him in English class and ends up earning the unofficial title of Nolan's Wake-up Alarm-a title that nobody in the entire school covets. The last thing she wants is to interact with him more than she absolutely has to. One day, their gym teacher sends her to bring him back to class, which he always skips for some reason. When she accidentally shines her flashlight in his sleeping face, it triggers a chain of events that gradually intertwines their lives together. It's hard to be a normal student when you start befriending the school oddball. It doesn't help that he has more secrets than the Big Ben has stairs. ----- Complete.
