Hinokami Days follows the story of Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the legendary demon slayer who was once humanity's greatest weapon against the demon king, Muzan Kibutsuji. After his spine was shattered in a fateful battle and Muzan narrowly escaped, Yoriichi retired from his life as a demon slayer and opened a quiet shop, far removed from the dangers of his past.
A century later, a determined young demon slayer named Tanjiro Kamado seeks Yoriichi's help in hunting down Muzan, but the once mighty warrior refuses, now content with his peaceful life. However, Tanjiro is manipulated was turned into a demon by Muzan,Yoriichi is forced to confront his past once again. Using his legendary skills and a powerful drug, Yoriichi helps Tanjiro regain his humanity.
Tanjiro, now indebted to Yoriichi, reluctantly agrees to work at his shop in exchange for training to defeat Muzan.
