In the present, James "Bucky" Barnes is a congressman representing his native Brooklyn in D.C. His world is turned upside down when he runs into his first love, whom he hasn't seen since the war, the same age she was the last time he saw her. The only problem? She doesn't remember him, and insists she isn't who he thinks she is. Bucky makes it his mission to figure out who this woman is, and convince her she's his lost love.
Endowed with powers by mysterious Asgardian entities, Esther has been living her life for the last eighty years as Astrid Olafsson, serving Asgard as the keeper of their records and story. She has limited memories of her life before becoming keeper, but has been happy to serve Asgard all these years. During the Blip, Esther was dissolved to nothingness, and in her absence an important Asgardian artifact went missing. Now tasked with a secret mission by King Brunnhilde to retrieve the artifact, Esther works hard to find the thieves and return the artifact. However, a handsome congressman complicates things.
