Dangerous Shiny Objects

"So, let me get this straight," Lou said, running her fingers through her tangled hair.

"Aww, sweety," Clara pursed her lips and gave her big eyes. "You still haven't accepted that you aren't straight, have you?"

"That's not what I meant, and you know that," Lou looked at her. Of course, she hadn't really thought about being with a woman until she met her. But that didn't mean that she was denying the obvious.

"Just double checking," she batted her eyes innocently.

If there truly was anything innocent with this cat shifter.

"You want me to help you keep this shiny ball of destruction away from the dragon you stole it from," she started. "On the chance that you might actually accept me as your mate?"

"Hey, the mate thing is your culture, not mine," She shrugged, looking at the perfect nails that she had given herself. "I'm just saying that if I'm going to be with one person for the rest of my life, it should at least be a person that can help me with a little, teeny, problem I have."

"A dragon is not a teeny problem," Lou frowned. She couldn't believe she was getting roped up into this. She couldn't believe that she was getting mated with a woman that was so picky and uptight and always wanted things her way...

Who was absolutely too gorgeous for Lou to ever say no too...

"It shouldn't be that bad," she batted her eyes at her again. They shined brilliantly in the little light that came through the window. "Don't you want to have a little fun anyway?"

A little fun wasn't what she was thinking right then. She was really thinking about marking this shapeshifter and keeping her in that room for the rest of her life. Lou should have turned her down in a heartbeat. This was a crazy adventure she was asking her to do just for a potential of her actually staying with her in her pack.

"Fine," Lou sighed. "But you better take my request seriously after this."

"For a cutey like you?" Clara winked. "Of course, I will."
