Cecilia is done. For years, she had an unrequited crush on her brother's best friend, Marcello. Now, she is finally ready to give up the hopeless romantic mindset and move on. This summer will be different! No toxic parents, insecurities or protective brother can stop her. Going out to party, drinking, breaking away from trauma, this summer will change everything... But of course, the moment she decides to turn her back towards her romantic feelings, golden boy, Marcello comes back to town, from college, for the summer break. Suddenly, her nonchalantness towards him, rubs him the wrong way. He is confused and doesn't understand his own feelings, towards a girl he only ever saw in a protective way. However, Cecilia is not giving in so easily, she is done waiting! Will she be able to leave him in her past? Especially now, that it has been decided that Cecilia will spend her summer on Sicily together with her best friend, her brother and Marcello at his grandparents house. One thing is for sure this summer will be unforgettable... This book mixes the typical romcom-coming-of-age vibes, with trauma, angst and toxic parents while still being a feel-good story. P.S. this does contain mature themes like abuse etc. but it will NOT be the main focus. This won't be a sad story. When Alana moves back to England and takes a job with a Premier League team, the last thing she's expecting is to be reunited with Garrett - her childhood friend and the star of the team who's suddenly very attractive. ... Once she's graduated university, Alana Clarke moves back to where she grew up for her first job as the social media manager for Wakefield FC. While the atmosphere initially seems less than ideal, thanks to a mildly annoying boss, things start looking up when she reconnects with one of the players, an old classmate of hers. Alana knows she isn't supposed to date within the club, but things start piling up in her life and this might just be the perfect distraction. Garrett Bancroft is at a career high. Despite Wakefield's iffy record, he's being scouted by other teams in the Prem - and a few across the globe. Everything is working out perfectly until public attention isn't the only thing he attracts and the club's new hire catches his eye. Although Garrett's performance last season yielded a number of personal records, his mental state was at an all-time low, so a good relationship may be just what he needs. As stated by the league, club staff are highly discouraged from dating players, but Alana can't seem to avoid Garrett's charm. However, hiding their relationship turns out to be a bigger challenge than expected. As Alana begins to make enemies within the club, gossip is leaked about Garrett, and nobody to back them up, the two worry they might just be getting ahead of themselves. Unless they can get someone in their corner, both of their careers might be in jeopardy. How much is too much to risk for love?
