Aria Skalbeck is the only female wrestler on her high school's wrestling team. After a life-changing incident that caused her to lose focus and ended up jeopardizing her junior wrestling season, Aria comes back to her senior and final wrestling season with the goal to become state champion in her weight class and section, as with every other girl in the state of Minnesota. Things are going good after an extensive amount of time to heal from the trauma of her past, until a certain, familiar face decides to enter her life in a way she never could have expected.

Born and raised in Krasnoyarsk, Russia in his very early childhood, Alexei Koltsov moved to Spirit Lake, Minnesota to seek a better life after watching his city explode into flames and detonate to rubble. Fast forward to senior year, and the last year he's doing dual sports in the wintertime: hockey and wrestling. Participating in two sports at the same time eats up so much of his extra time, therefore he makes a rule that he cannot date or be involved in any romantic relationships. However, as life likes to suddenly throw you into a takedown, he wants to make an exception to this "rule" for a certain girl who so happens to be on his wrestling team-a certain girl who has a ton of spitfire, grit, and a rather unhealthy obsession with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
