The sun blazed down on the teeming squatter's area. Vryle, lost in a half-dream, was jolted awake by a scream that tore through the afternoon calm. Chaos erupted. She and her mother were alone, the world outside their small home descending into a terrifying nightmare. The streets, once vibrant with life, were now filled with the horrifying moans of the undead. Vryle's peaceful afternoon had become a desperate fight for survival.

But when he mistakenly knocked on Zab's door, thinking that he's supposed to reap her soul, his boring existence turned upside down. Zab wasn't supposed to see him and this piqued his interest.
