who am i? that's the question scarlett doesn't have an answer to. she's 16, and moving to LA, she's lonely, and she's looking for a box to fit in.
scarlett has slept with boys-too early and with the wrong ones-but in the end, they left more emptiness than love.

and if that wasn't enough, her father lets her down. he decides that they should move from san francisco to live with his new girlfriend shortly before she graduates from high school. and with that, scarlett finds herself in a strange house with a "stepmother", little brothers and a shaggy dog.
but then, billie appears: the neighbour girl with blue hair, her mesmerising eyes and infectious laugh.
for the first time, scarlett has the feeling that her life could also be full of lightness - if only she dared...
