Roses Wilt

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Rein... You are so much but you only ever hide yourself away.. just tell me why"

Tears were streaming down her face and she laughed bitterly. "Why? Because roses wilt, flowers die and life goes on! That's the way it is, it's the way it always will be! Stop trying to change me, stop acting like you even care Asher!"

18 year old Rein Winters was tired of picking up the pieces of her broken family. Ever since her brother (her best friend) had died she was numb. She was afraid, of everything really. But more than anything else it was the fear of ever loving someone again that haunted her at night. College was supposed to be her chance to be free. To have fun. To find her old self again. But much to her dismay old habits die hard and happiness is hard to find when you've lost so much.

Asher Rox was the picture of college boy perfection. Very attractive, smart and of course, a star athlete. Captain of the Cross Country team couldn't get any hotter. He had it all. But inside he felt guilty, guilty for having so much when his best friend was gone, guilty for being alive.

Now forced to share a two bedroom apartment Asher and Rein find themselves face-to-face with pain, vulnerability and possibly love.
