"God." Luke's voice shook slightly. He looked like he wanted to slap her. Something about his tone made her crack; she was so tired of it all. Her knees buckled, and she collapsed, hitting the floor hard. Luke was beside her in an instant, hands cupping her face, making her look at him.
"You idiot," he said hoarsely. "You idiot."
She felt his hands tremble as he pulled her towards him, wrapping strong arms around her. She felt his silver crucifix against her cheek. Something about the metal soothed her.
"You can't leave me Liv, talk to me, please."
His dark brown hair brushed against her forehead, the sensation causing her to shiver.
"You promised."
