On a desolate Scottish island, siblings Cailean (18) and Caitrìona (16) live in complete isolation. Their mother, the only person they have ever known, has raised them under strict rules: they must never leave the island and their farm, for a war rages beyond the sea. Their world consists only of the rugged cliffs, their flock of sheep, and the small cabin that barely shields them from the brutal northern winds.

One day, their mother leaves the island for supplies, promising to return soon. But days turn to weeks, and she never comes back. With dwindling food and no knowledge of the outside world, Cail and Cat cling to each other for survival. Fear and loneliness consume them but also set them free.
As the months pass, their bond deepens into something forbidden, something inevitable. They are the only ones left in the world, after all. The isolation and harsh conditions distort their perceptions, and their love becomes their only solace.

After several months, desperate and no longer under the influence of anyone, they set out on foot, believing they would find the way out of the island. Instead, after three days of walking, they stumble upon something impossible: another farm. The truth is shattering: it is not 1945, but 2001. The war they feared never existed. Just beyond the cliffs, a small village has stood for years. After that, all the secrets start to unravel.

As Cail and Cat are taken from the only life they've ever known, they are forced to face not only the outside world but the devastating reality of what they have become to each other.

But can they ever truly leave the world they built together? Can they ever face the consequences of their forbidden love and what they've done? Is there any way how they can repent from their love?
