Damian failed to contain his laughter the second time around and And Shadis turned to glare at him, "Oh fuck-"
"'Oh fuck' indeed. What's your name, Giggles?"
Damian straightened- if he could even do so with how stiff his body felt- and saluted, slamming a fist over his heart, "Sir! Damian Krause of Krolva, sir!" His limbs felt like lead, and his entire body ached.
Shadis glared down at him, "What's so funny, Damian Krause of Krolva?"
"Nothing, sir!"
Shadis glared for a moment longer before moving on, "What do you intend to accomplish here, Man-bun? You're even more of a runt than Arlert over there."
In the back of his mind, he heard the sickening wet crunch of his caretaker's body. The titan grinned down as it watched the colour drain from Damian's face.
"Join the scouts," Death, in all its morbid, horrific, glory- stomach-churning as it was, watching him like a predator would watch its prey. A hawk was let into the songbird's cage. Everything that could hurt him- titans and humans- was inside the walls. "Keep myself safe, see freedom with my own two eyes."
"Row 6, about face." and Damian turned around.
