After the battle

Henry's adventure in Kutná Hora has come to an end. Or has it?
Hans is engaged to a beautiful, wealthy noblewoman, Henry is bound for the smithy and has every village girl fluttering around him - it all seems to be heading toward a happy ending.
Seems to.

So why does Hans feel the noose tightening around his neck, and Henry an overwhelming urge to run?

"I wouldn't mind trading my sword for a blacksmith's hammer one day," he admitted. Capon nodded, smiled-but looked away.
"But that's something for the distant future," Henry continued. "I think by the time you have no need for protection, I'll be lucky if I can still hold that hammer."
Hans laughed, finally looking back at him.
"I swear, half the problems I have wouldn't exist without you."
"And the other half would have killed you long ago without me," Henry shot back, smirking. Capon raised his hands in surrender and grinned.
"Either way, I'm glad you know where you belong. With me."
Then he spurred his horse forward, guiding it down a narrow forest trail toward their hunting camp.
"With you," Henry echoed under his breath, a strange shiver running down his spine.
