It isn't easy growing up in the suburbs of Lagos, Nigeria: There are just too many cultural norms. Tiwatola, popularly known as Tola, faces the difficulties of growing up in a household strictly of authoritarians. With a new addition to the family, Tola battles the responsibilities of being an older sibling and trying to understand her surroundings.

This is a coming of age tale of four year old Tola into the woman she desires to be.

Artwork by Nychole Owens. I honestly was never good at describing my stories but if you're looking for a story with a chirpy theme, you might as well close this and read something else. This is a story about a teenage Nigerian girl and how her life turned upside down, it's a story of sorrow, grief and hope. So, will her life turn right side up? Will she finally find happiness? Will she finally be able to look in the mirror with pride? Frankly, I don't know, so let's begin our journey, hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. I will be updating this story regularly with parts. This story will be told from the perspectives of three different characters as they all try to make sense of this curious phenomenon we have dubbed Life. *Chapters of this story are being uploaded on Brittle Paper, check it out at brittlepaper.com*
