Aeris, a once-naïve mage who had accepted to have her powers hidden by the Magic Government for protection, soon discovers how mistaken she was. Betrayed by people she trusted and hounded by the cult known as the Broken Star for years, she becomes their target after consistently refusing their request to join. When they strike, Aeris expects death-yet fate has other plans.

Instead of perishing, she awakens in the depths of a strange forest, her body bruised from an attack by a mystical beast.
