The night was cold, chilling Eunhye to the bone. Her thin nightgown shredded the more she ran through the twine, escaping the place she called home. It wasn't safe to turn around, not anymore, not when the flames were getting closer. Angry villagers burned through the vines, attempting to find the runaway girl.
They wanted to rid themselves of her, of the secrets she had uncovered. They couldn't risk her bleeding the truth to the higher-ups, it would be a death sentence. The best way to deal with a rat in their village, was sacrifice. She was the perfect candidate, one they had been trying to dispose of since birth.
But as she escaped, running further into the forest, she became lost. Every turn, every tree, they all looked the same. What was she supposed to do if she couldn't find a way out?
That was unknown, at least to her.
But what about the glowing crimson eyes that watched her from above? Would they be a way out?
