Bai Bin is a Filipino-Chinese, was raised by his mother, who is of pure Chinese descent. Due to the vast difference in the social standing of his parenrs, her mother decided to leave his father and take him to China when he was five years old. There, her mother taught him everything he needed to know, as he was the sole heir of the Bai Group Incorporation in China. His mother wants him to marry someone of Chinese descent, someone who also comes from a prestigious family.

Alexia, grew up in the Philippines. Her mother worked for Bai Bin's family for nearly a decade and took care of Bai Bin from the time he was born until he was five years old and was taken to China.
