I have always been a hopeless romantic, always daydreaming of my prince charming to come, sweep me off my feet and we would ride off into the sunset to our happily ever after. When you're a princess this type of idea could be possible but not in my case. I'm not your typical princess, yes I wear a crown, fancy dresses and like sparkles but I also love archery, riding my horse and escaping from the castle ever so often. At times I want to be able to get away from all of the responsibility and have an adventure, meet someone new, fall in love. But with a stern father, a stuck in the middle mother, crazy sisters and a captain of the guard that wont leave me alone, how can I accomplish my dreams. So what do I do? I do what I what I always do. I escape the castle walls and go to my private little spot in the forest. When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales. I believed in princes and princesses and knights in shining armor. I believed in forever and happily ever afters. I was ten when reality hit me. My mom brought the evil home with her and there was no escaping it. That's when I learned that fairy tales were just that: fairy tales. The bad stuff is real, though. The difference is that I now know that the monsters and evil villains don't always wear capes and ugly scars. No: most of the time, they appear normal. I'm drowning in reality, in my life, and I've given up hope that a knight in shining armor will rescue me. But maybe... maybe I don't need a Prince Charming after all.
