Emma was a sophomore in high school. When Emma was born Aro had decided that it would be best if she didn't live at the castle due to her safety, so he sent her to Oregon. She has lived at the beach for most of her life. Emma also has a varitey of mental health issues. Emma as diagnosed with Anorexia and Depression. On Emma's sixteenth birthday Aro decided that it was time for her to come back to Italy. So, he sends Alec, Jane, Demetri, and Felix on a mission to take her home, to her true home.
