The Forgotten Timekeeper
A Genshin Impact Short Story
Prologue - The Fall of Time
Time was never meant to break.
It was meant to flow, like rivers carving their paths through stone, like the steady rhythm of rainfall kissing the earth. Time was a cycle-never still, never stopping. But she, the one who governed it, had shattered that sacred order.
She had done so for them.
The cries of war had drowned the world for centuries, the skies painted red with the blood of gods and mortals alike. She had stood at the heart of it all, watching as the sands of time slipped through her fingers, too fast, too cruel.
And so, she had grasped it-held time itself in her hands and forced it to bend.
She had slowed the arrows mid-flight, turned the tide of battle, and reversed the wounds of those who should have perished. Again, and again, and again-until the weight of eternity began to erase her.
She had been a ruler, once. A protector. A name whispered in reverence by those who sought shelter within her nation's borders. But when the war finally ended, when peace settled like dust upon forgotten ruins-there was no one left to say her name.
Not because they had perished.
But because they had forgotten.
History rewrote itself, reshaped by the very power she had wielded. The world moved forward, leaving no trace of her existence. No statues, no records, not even a faint memory of the goddess who had once stood among the Seven.
All except for two.
A bard who danced with the wind.
A retired Archon who walked with stone.
Venti and Zhongli alone remembered her. But only one still sought her out, following the faint ripples of her fading presence.
For he knew.
If Venti did not call her back to the present,
she would drift into nothingness forever.
And so, beneath an ancient sky, Venti whispered the name that only he still knew-soft as the wind, fleeting as a song.
"...My little Rainfall."

"You do know how to eat a burger, right?"
Summer rolled her eyes, looking up at him with feigned exasperation. "Of course I do," she retorted, then lowered her voice as she leaned in, her expression shifting to one of genuine concern. "Do you think they have a fork and knife? So I can, you know... cut it?"
