Mystery
The city is dead. The streets whisper of things that should not be. Shadows move where none should exist. And in the silence, something watches. Arthur Grey walks through the ruins, a man untouched by the infection, feared by the things that hunt in the dark. Survivors speak his name in hushed voices-some call him a savior, others a demon draped in a coat. They do not know the truth. The Rippers own the night, mindless in their hunger. But something worse lurks beneath them. Something that thinks. Something that learns. He does not seek power. He does not seek safety. He seeks something deeper. Revenge. Answers. A reason. But the more he uncovers, the more the city turns against him. The dead are not what they seem. And Arthur Grey is not what he was.

It's been ten years since the fall of humanity. I was only ten years old when the zombies took over. The military told us to flee underground, explaining that it was safer. The zombies are smart, too smart. They can learn to hide themselves. Some of them disguise themselves to look like normal people. We tell them apart by checking their eyes. Zombies have enlarged pupils compared to humans. No one knows why. 🏆 3rd place in The Flames Awards Sci-Fi category 🏆3rd place in The Slayer Book Awards 🏆3rd place in The Siren's Curse Awards @ScienceFiction added The Dead Walk Among Us to their Zombies reading list.
