There was this girl-Amara. My best friend for at least five years. The one who truly knew me, who understood me in ways no one else ever could. Whenever I felt like my world was falling apart, I always ran to her. Just like now. She held me close, her arms wrapped around me in a comforting embrace. "Don't worry, it's alright. Everyone goes through that. I'm here for you," she said, her voice soft, reassuring. She thought I was crying over my last relationship, that I was heartbroken over another failed love. But she was wrong. It wasn't them I was crying about. It never was. Because the person I love is her. I wanted to tell her-desperately. I wanted to look into her eyes and say that she was the reason I could never love anyone else, that no matter how hard I tried, my heart would always find its way back to her. But I couldn't. Because losing her would destroy me. So instead, I stayed in her arms, letting myself have this moment, even if it was all I could ever have. I closed my eyes, breathing in the scent of her shampoo, feeling the warmth of her embrace. This-this-was all I wanted. I looked up at her, wondering... would she ever see me the way I see her? Or was I destined to love her in silence forever?

Four years ago, a 13-year-old blackmailed me into friendship by holding my doughnut captive. We've been close ever since. I soon noticed that I wanted to be more than just friends. I was in love with my best friend. But sadly, he didn't feel the same way. I thought my world was over. I was crushed. But to my utmost yet most delighted surprise, I just happened to fall into the arms of a certain bad boy. Literally. He didn't just save me from what could've been a hell of a concussion that night. He saved my heart too. But hey, let's not get in over our heads now. It wasn't that easy. Not even close. After all, when two opposing worlds clash for the very first time, we can't just expect it to be all rainbows and sunshine. Now, do we?
