I think we all knew she was marking the days, knew she didn't have much time left. She'd numbered her hours, and we could only watch. Jared's self-inflicted demise destroyed her. At first she barely shed a tear, still got good grades, still looked put together. It was only after we all stopped grieving did we start to see her crumble. It was then we started to see the empty look in Emma's crystal
eyes, the plastic feel of her ever present smile. Eventually, she stopped pretending, we stopped trying to help, and one day, Emma stopped breathing.
Emma was in love with a boy who would never love her back. How cliché, right? Here's our little twist, the reason he couldn't love her back was because he had taken his life 3 months before. What happens when Emma fulfills her promise and goes to meet Jared in the life after death?
